What is FACTS?

FACTS: From A Child’s True Stories is FORM180’s spoken-word and storytelling programme, giving young people the space to turn their real thoughts, experiences and imaginations into powerful creative expression. Through poetry, performance and honest conversation, FACTS helps young people find their voice, build confidence and recognise that their stories matter. Book FACTS for Your School or Organisation.

Watch this video which poetically explains why our FACTS concept is important for young people today.

Why FACTS?

Young people carry stories, ideas, pressures and potential that are not always easy to put into words. FACTS creates a safe, supportive space where they can explore what matters to them through writing, performance and creative discussion. Whether their stories are about identity, friendship, family, ambition, confidence or the world around them, participants are encouraged to reflect, create and be heard. No one is pressured to share anything personal. The aim is simple: to give young people positive ways to express themselves and the confidence to use their voice.

Our Mission

FACTS exists to remind young people that their voice has value. By combining spoken word, storytelling and meaningful conversation, FORM180 helps participants develop confidence, communication skills and a stronger belief in what they can contribute. From a child’s true stories can come confidence, connection and change.

What Young People Can Gain

  • Confidence in speaking and sharing ideas

  • Creative writing and spoken-word skills

  • Emotional expression and self-awareness

  • Stronger communication and listening skills

  • Empathy and respect for different perspectives

  • Positive identity and self-belief

  • Resilience, reflection and critical thinking

Who Is FACTS For?

FACTS is suitable for young people in:

  • Primary and secondary schools

  • Colleges and alternative provision settings

  • Youth clubs and community organisations

  • Mentoring and wellbeing programmes

  • Faith groups and voluntary-sector organisations

  • Youth-focused events and creative enrichment days

Sessions can be adapted for different ages, group sizes and needs.

How It Works

Each FACTS session combines creativity with conversation. Young people are introduced to spoken word through engaging examples, writing prompts, group discussion and guided activities. They are supported to create original pieces in a way that feels accessible, encouraging and fun.

Sessions can include:

  • Interactive spoken-word performances

  • Creative writing activities

  • Group discussion and reflection

  • Confidence-building exercises

  • Performance coaching

  • Optional showcase opportunities

No previous writing or performance experience is needed—just an open mind and a willingness to explore.

Bring FACTS to Your Young People

FORM180 can work with your school, college or organisation to create a FACTS experience that fits your young people. Whether you are planning a one-off workshop, a wellbeing day, a creative enrichment programme, a themed event or a longer-term project, we would love to talk about how FACTS can support your community. Give young people the space to speak. Give them the confidence to be heard.
